When it comes to improving our homes, many people think that they need to spend money. This is a great way to make the room look as good as new without spending a dollar.

Step 1: Take down the wrinkled curtains from the windows and read the fabric information on the tag (it should be somewhere inside). You will need to use the setting on your iron that corresponds to the highest percentage of the type of fabric that the drapes are made out of.

Step 2: Lay the curtains out flat on the ironing board and spray a list mist of starch across them. Make sure you hold the can at least 3 to 4 inches away from the fabric and wait a few seconds for the starch to settle before you continue with the next step.

Step 3: Gently place the iron onto the curtain and slowly move it back and forth until the wrinkles are gone. Then, shift the fabric so that another wrinkled section is laying flat on the board. Continue to repeat this step until you have covered the entire drape.

Step 4: Hang the freshly ironed curtains back up in the window immediately, as this will prevent new wrinkles from forming. It is recommended that you do all of your drapes at the one time, as this will ensure that they all look as good as new and you are making good use of your iron.

Step 5: It is also possible to remove wrinkles from your curtains whilst they are still hung up. Use a steamer wand, holding it about 2 or 3 inches away from the fabric, starting at the top and work your way down. Make sure you move the wand slowly.

No matter which method you are using to de-wrinkle your ready made curtains it is important that you remember to never let the iron or wand rest in one place for too long. This can cause the fabric to burn, which will completely ruin your drapes. You should also be careful when checking if your iron is hot enough, as you could be subjected to serious burns.
